about

Everybody knows when you’re down in Miami the heat is on… That balmy breeze, the vibrant colors, palm trees, that pure sexiness all around. But what many may not realize is that over the past 10 years, Miami has become a hotbed of creativity. From fine art to culinary arts and of course, the MUSIC. You might first think salsa, freestyle, Miami bass, old school house legends like M.U.R.K. and the Traxsource team, or new school electronic heroes such as DJ Craze, Danny Daze, Jesse Perez and Otto Von Schirach, but what about the NEXT GENERATION??

That is exactly why Soul Clap Records is launching Three Oh Five Life a new compilation focused on spotlighting up and coming artists that we’ve met while living and hanging in Miami's 305 area code… aka the 6th borough aka our home away from home. March 17th, this record drops just in time for the infamous Winter Music Conference / Miami Music week.

Now we present 8 eclectic jams in the order they appear on the record. First up, Gran Moxy; a longtime Miami DJ/Producer with roots in Miami bass, hip-hop and Fania Records (the Motown of Salsa) brings us “Porch Steps”. Next, a breezy Soul Clap party jam “Stillwater Drive”, is a dedication to the street we lived on with Wolf + Lamb. Shaney Shane Vincent follows, who introduced himself by bringing us a personally pressed dubplate of his music while we were DJing! On “BabyGirl” his unique loft and r&b infused style shines through. The compilation's real vocal bomb is “GRIND” by the mysterious Theo Motion. Theo sang this himself AND did the music, out cold! Rising talent Alpha 606 brings his signature fusion of Miami bass, electro and latin flavor in a head trip called “Slave Trade”. Then there’s the Arroz Con Mango Project; a collaboration between Gran Moxy, main brain producer Javier Torres and sax, flute and keyboard specialist Roland Rodriguez, who form like Voltron on “Ta Bueno Eso”. Young, creative, global music aficionados Brother Dan & Kyle Parker bring us a funky deep exploration “Sea Level’s Rising”. And last but certainly NOT least we present "Closer" by Los Negros aka Shaney Shane Vincent and Don Redfox who is one of Wynwood's most fashionable, fascinating and enigmatic characters.
